People search in Google when they need to GO, DO, KNOW, or BUY. If you are not there at the first page of Google search results, then you are missing a business opportunity. So, be there.
Small businesses need to be at the first page of Google search results when someone searches for their products and services. To achieve this major digital marketing objective, small businesses need to produce, publish, post, promote and position blog articles about their products and services as a permanent task.

You can begin categorizing and subcategorizing all your products and services by the following 3 variables: name; use or application; user’s needs. Then you can begin to write articles for each of these 3 categories and subcategories. This is your writing plan.
Internet is many things, but in the context of marketing for small business, Internet can be considered as a mass digital media.
Every small business is an authority in what they do, whether it is the manufacturing of a product, the offer of a service, or the selling of products. This knowledge about how small business runs their business makes them an authority in that knowledge, and it is this knowledge that has to be written in an academic storytelling manner for the content marketing strategy.
We said it before in a previous article. Internet is a media, therefore content in the most important asset. Since we are in the knowledge era, that content must be valuable content that increases the knowledge and the awareness of the audience, but at the same time entertains the audience. How to teach and entertain at the same time? That is the challenge of good quality content for small business marketing. How we put together rhetoric and dialectic in an emotional and entertainment manner. Storytelling might be the answer. Who is the audience? What do they want to know? Do it in a natural way, with natural language, in a human and personal manner, with a touch of emotion.
Humans are complex creatures; how can we get their attention? How can we help them to increase their awareness? Should we write content for them assuming all of them want to learn, so we respect and educate them? Academic educational storytelling content about the small business products and services is a manner to accomplish this objective. This is what I call the academic storytelling strategy. This strategy will end up giving authority to the small business website, and putting the business at the first page of Google search results.
Search algorithms are also complex software’s, however they place at the first page of Google search results the most valuable and relevant content for the search users.
Since we write for humans but we also write for search algorithm, we have to end up writing relevant and valuable content. To do this, we need a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and this is the hard task. Small businesses have subject matter experts within their organizations, but they are not writers, and sometimes small businesses have writers but they are not subject matter experts. Houston we have a problem. Business people are subject matter experts about their products and services, but most of them are not writers. Writers are not subject matter experts about small business products and services. This is the challenge. How do we take that knowledge from the small businesses owners head and put it in a written format.
Internet is a media that can be used to educate people to increase their knowledge and awareness about any product or service. Through this learning process people can experience brain neuroplasticity and wellness. Knowledge is wellness and learning changes the brain for the good, just as meditations does. Let’s produce content for the brain, intellectual content written in an emotional manner. Rhetoric and dialectic mixed together.
